The Subtle Philosophy of the Round, and the Square: An Article on Abstract Thought

Ever wondered why certain material gets stored only in a particular type of container? Why any drink in round bottles often, ultimately, gets packed in cuboidal cardboard? This article captures my train of thought that travels to the station of understanding; understanding the subtle philosophy of the round, and the square. The circle, and the square - two distinct shapes that seem opposing forces, in my opinion, complement each other more than what's seemingly obvious. Round bottles are often packed inside cuboidal boxes of cardboard. It isn't rare to notice a phrase of caution written on the outside in bold, "Fragile material within, handle carefully,". Doesn't this beautifully spin a subtle understanding of how this 'opposing geometry' isn't so opposing after all? Don't the shapes silently complement each other? The fragile delicate bottles inside need something strong to keep them together; need protecting material to keep careless hands away f...

'Unprovoked' Violence Leads Only to the Abyss of Downfall - My Views on an Incident: An Article

The following article, which I claim to be politically unaffiliated, is a brief piece on my personal views regarding a recent unprovoked violent incident.  Sometimes, certain incidents force me to question, "Have people misunderstood religion?". In our selfish desire to propagate the respective religions we belong to, have we forgotten our essential humanity? Mustn't we pause, and reflect what actually has led us to dominate the pyramid of life, and power? Upon close scrutiny, isn't it surprising to notice that we humans are mere slender bones when compared to the mighty elephants or the lions that roar in disdain? Isn't it our intelligence that has aided us in claiming superiority over the entire animal kingdom? Yes, and no! What about our penchant of wholesome compassion not only for humankind but other varied flora, and fauna? To mercilessly wipe out followers of another religious cult, we hold guns - enthusiastically brainwashed to shoot - and are shamelessly ...

Toward Utopia - The Other Side of the Rainbow: An Allegorical Poem

Toward Utopia - The Other Side of the Rainbow The poem written in blank verse, is a modified inspiration from a popular legend in classical folklore. The seas of the ancient world are known to have borne many pirates on their sojourn to faraway islands home to elusive rainbows. It was believed that sparkling jewels as treasure would be found on the other side of those rainbows. Motivated to hoard untouched wealth, they would set sail on their voyage to fortune. Who knew, back then, that the closer you approach a rainbow, the farther it glides away from you? This poem captures the imaginary idea of perfection and how that we may not reach our desired perfect world, the idea, however, is powerful enough to unite us into building a better world. In our relentless pursuit we end up improving; improving to form a better version of ourselves, and of course, a developed world. After all, it is the idea of perfection that keeps us going. We sail on a boat, On waging waters that bear us, ...

Spring's Lullaby: A Nature Poem

Spring's Lullaby Spring's a season of colours. A season of gentle awakening for all of us. The radiant nature of spring is also reflected in this lullaby, which is energetically bright yet doesn't lose the softness of a lullaby. This poem is an expression of my experience of spring. The Spring sings to me, Sings its wonders heavenly. 'Neath a Cherry Blossom I sit, Pink presents fall, a smile's lit. The Spring sings to me, Hums surreal sights with glee. Golden dewdrops, few Frangipani, some Peregrina, Also Yellow bells, and many a Jacaranda. "You bring so much variety, don't You Spring?", Blows a soft wind to quietly caress - "Relish My essence in quiet; a true living,". The Spring sings to me, Sings life's awakening mirthfully. Squirrels merrily scuttle up trees, Wagtails play hiding behind leaves. Lost are these joys simple to men, who tread concrete, admire buildings of glass ample. The Spring sings to me, Hums its distinct sounds joyfu...
